AS&E is a manufacturer of quality auger filling systems. We offered the first complete servo auger filler in industry. Our unique controls offer high fill accuracy and operator ease of use. Our Models


1.Model 75 Auger Filler

The Model 75 auger filler is AS&E’s flagship product. This servo controlled filler boasts numerous advantages for packaging such as low maintenance and high production speeds. Its state of the art controls have scale weight feedback for quick, precise, on-the-fly auger adjustment. Standard features are:

  • Single 16 gallon stainless-steel hopper
  • V-clamp ring for securing hopper to lid
  • Alignment tool (for aligning hopper to spindle)
  • Inlet (150mm / 6” round) and large inspection ducts in lid
  • Spindle speed up to 1500 RPM for rapid filling
  • Slow-speed agitator with cycloidal gearbox

  • 2.Model 50

    The Model 50 auger filler is AS&E’s standard dual filler. The two-up filler uses twin independent servos for auger motion. It has many of the same the same low-maintenance characteristics of the Model 75. The state of the art controls include scale weight feedback for quick, precise, on-the-fly auger adjustment. Our method of securing the hopper to the lid uses a retaining ring that gives a tight fit and facilitates easy alignment of the hopper to the spindles. Standard features are:

    4.Batch Gates for VFFS Bagging Machines

     

    The batch gate system has an accumulation hopper with a set of bomb-bay style doors on the bottom. This is often used on VFFS packaging machines to accumulate bags between batches before dropping them onto a take-away conveyor. The accumulation hopper holds bags for several seconds providing space between batches for an operator to change boxes. Our design ensures that bags do not catch inside the hopper once the doors are open. The quick reacting, pneumatic controlled doors can precisely catch a bag within a single machine cycle at speeds over 100 bags/minute. The quality construction provides years of service.

    5.Servo Can Rejector

    The servo rejection system is used to reject product on a can line. The system is servo motor controlled for high speed and precision. The rejector can reject 6” diameter cans at up to speeds of 250 cans/minute with no spacing between the cans.

    6.Flavor System for Coffee Packaging

    Our flavoring system is mounted to an augerfiller on a bagging machine. Liquid flavoring is injected into each bag as it’s being produced. This system was originally developed for short production runs of flavored coffee. This system is idea for a small coffee company who wishes to package flavored coffee but does not need large enrobing lines. The flavor system is used standard AS&E augers.
    The flavoring system is easy to setup and use. The flavor uses small diameter tubing that can be flushed for easy cleanup. Our controls feature a clean-out procedure to quicken change-over time.
    This system is idea for packers who want to beginoffering flavored coffee. It’s also perfect for experienced packers who need to make short production runs of flavored coffee. Since the coffee is flavored as it’s being packaged no extra time-consuming flavoring processes are required.

    7.Controls Upgrades for Auger Fillers

    In addition to building augers AS&E can provide controls for existing augers. This often consists of converting clutch/brake units to servo controls. In addition we can update existing servo controls to modernize a problematic filler. AS&E controls boast our integrated weight control system with scale feedback. Often, customers upgrade the controls on their fillers so they can have the automatic scale feedback for increased fill accuracy and production control. We have re-controlled numerous brands of augers.

    8.Controls Upgrades for VFFS Machines

    AS&E has decades of experience with packaging machines. These machines range from VFFS (Vertical/Form/Fill/Seal) to high-speed fractional packaging machines. Our state of the art controls are idea for controlling a variety of different brand packaging machines. If you have a machine with older or problematic electronics look no further. We can often upgrade the controls and ensure years of future production. If the machine is using an AS&E filler, we can integrate the control of the filler into the packager’s controls.
